Food Product Safety Testing Facility
MBCC is a major supplier of food microbiological services in the North West of Wales. MBCC has been operating since 1988 from its laboratory facility in Bangor, Gwynedd, and has opened a purpose-built microbiology laboratory at the Food Technology Centre in Llangefni on the Isle of Anglesey. Microbiological services offer full traceability and UKAS accreditation for a broad and expanding range of analysis. MBCC also offers a range of chemical analysis through a UKAS accredited subcontractor.
MBCC is able to examine a wide range of samples including:
- Product samples
- Environmental swabs
- Water samples
- Staff hygiene swabs
It also carries out shelf-life studies and advises on the microbiological impact of process design and assists in product development. MBCC participates in External Quality Assessment Schemes for both water and food samples and has an on-going commitment to Quality Assurance.
Its range of UKAS accredited microbiology includes:
- Total viable count, aerobic
- Total Coliforms
- E.coli
- Staphylococcus aureus
- Salmonellae
- Listeria monocytogenes
- Enterococcus Spp.
- Pseudomonas aeruginosa
- SR Clostridia
- Enterobacteriaceae
- Clostridium perfringens
In addition MBCC is able to analyse for the following:
- Campylobacter spp.
- Yeast and moulds
- Bacillus Cereus
